StateWarden Achieves SEAL-4 in Public Self-Assessment for EU Cloud Sovereignty Framework

Redefining Digital Sovereignty

We are proud to announce that StateWarden® has completed a rigorous, public self-assessment, achieving a SEAL-4 (Full Digital Sovereignty) rating under the EU Cloud Sovereignty Framework—the highest possible assurance level attainable within this stringent European standard.

While the EU Cloud Sovereignty Framework does not yet offer an official third-party certification mechanism, it explicitly demands that cloud providers conduct a clear, transparent, and public self-assessment of their capabilities. We have executed this mandate, publishing the complete per-objective scoring that documents our independence from non-EU jurisdictions.

Furthermore, our architecture provides built-in support for the critical requirements outlined in the European Commission's newly announced Tech Sovereignty Package, which sets the legislative trajectory for the coming years.

The SEAL-4 Distinction & Tech Sovereignty

The Cloud Sovereignty Framework assesses cloud service providers across multiple dimensions, including Strategic, Legal, Data, and Supply Chain sovereignty. Achieving SEAL-4 is a testament to our uncompromising engineering principles:

  • Zero-Knowledge Architecture: Our Cascade Cryptography model (mTLS, BLAKE3, ChaCha20, AES-256-GCM, and Post-Quantum Kyber) ensures that StateWarden has no technical access to your data. The keys remain strictly with you.
  • European Jurisdiction: Backup data and the control plane operate exclusively on self-hosted EU bare-metal servers (OVH), keeping the backup data path outside the reach of foreign statutes such as the US CLOUD Act.
  • Tech Sovereignty Package Ready: We rely on zero external SaaS dependencies. From our internal SMTP system (Hermes) to our native Rust iSCSI Target Server, the entire platform is sovereign-by-design, aligned with the goals of upcoming EU sovereignty legislation.

Beyond Compliance

While this assessment validates our alignment with strict European standards, it also directly translates to business value for our clients. By utilizing StateWarden, organizations immediately inherit a sovereign foundation that radically simplifies their own path to compliance with NIS2, DORA, and GDPR (Article 32).

For a detailed breakdown of our sovereignty profile, we have published our complete, public architecture evaluation.
